The Housing Counseling Program assists low-income families and individuals experiencing homelessness, or are in imminent danger of becoming homeless, to locate, secure, and maintain permanent housing.
Participants must be referred by a service provider who will assist with the housing search, like HOC. To be successful, participants must have either a subsidy or enough income to afford market rate housing.
HOC Housing Counselors advocate on behalf of the customer to landlords and helps customers locate a unit, present themselves well to landlords, overcome a poor credit or rental history, and put together enough money for the move-in.
